Research

Shanghai University of Finance and Economics obtained national funding for 63 projects, with a total of more than 22 million RMB in 2015. 42 NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China) projects were established, including 1 key research project of a major research plan, 1 Outstanding Youth Science Foundation project, 1 emergency project, 17 general projects and 21 Youth Foundation projects. 21 NSSF (National Social Science Foundation) projects were established, containing 2 major projects, 5 key projects, 10 general projects, 2 youth projects and 2 post-funded projects. The number of national key projects established in 2015 hit record highs.

Based on the number of national projects established in the last five years, the total quantity of established projects increased year by year from 2010 to 2013 and decreased in 2014. It increased significantly in 2015 compared with the number in 2014, which was slightly lower than in 2013.

In 2015, 90 provincial and ministerial-level projects were established, which was relatively lower than the number in 2014 (124 projects). The contract value was 8.152 million RMB.

In terms of project management, all 21 NSFC projects have passed the review of the National Natural Science Foundation, and 34 are currently under review. 9 NSSF projects have passed the review, of which 2 are exempt from review and 1 has been honored with distinction. In 2015, the on-time completion rate for NSSF projects of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was among the highest in Shanghai. Moreover, 6 humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education and 7 philosophy and social science projects of Shanghai Municipality have passed the review.
