From December 6th to 7th, the 10th Confucius Institute Conference was held in the Shanghai Exposition Center. The SUFE delegation was led by President Fan Liming and Vice President Yao Lingzhen participated in the conference. The Conference was organized by the Headquarters of the Confucius Institute (Hanban) and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government with the theme of “Development, Integration and Innovation”. Over 2300 participants varying from 130 different nations and districts attended the conference.
The 10th Confucius Institute Conference was subdivided into two sections: the Deans Forum and the Presidents Forum, which mainly concentrated on the topics of future plans, course construction, the training of teachers and students, and the sharing of the knowledge .
Liu Yandong, the Vice Premier of the State Council and the Chairman of the Headquarters of the Confucius Institute delivered speeches during the conference. Liu extended his appreciation to those who had contributed to the Confucius Institute work, and was looking forward to promoting a new level of affairs to accomplish the goal of quality, innovation, brand identity and features.
After the conference, President Fan met with Priit Reiska, Vice Chancellor of Tallinn University, Mikk Kasesalk, Dean of the Tallinn Confucius Institute and Kathryn Richardson, Dean of the Queen Mary Confucius Institute.
