On April 16th, the 14th World University Chess Championship commenced in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. A number SUFE students participated in the contest as China's representatives.

After 7 days of intense competition, Ni Shiqun from the SUFE School of Law drew with Mitra Hejazipour of Iran and finished in a three way tie with 6.5 points winning the gold medal by tie break. During the competition, Ni encountered numerous strong rivals yet prevailed with strong determination to win.


Ni Shiqun took home the women’s individual gold medal and the Chinese delegation finished fifth place in the team competition.
