【Graduation Season】Tong Yuan Bazaar, Graduate Fairs, and the Lawn Musical Festival pull back the Curtain for Graduation Season

06 18,2016

June 15th, 2016— Graduation season series activities, Tongyuan Bazaar, Graduate Fairs, and the Lawn Musical Festival were conducted at each campus. From the Green Leaf Pedestrian Street to the Wudong Playground, the campus was filled with a wonderful graduation atmosphere at each and every corner.

At midday the Tong Yuan Bazaar was officially launched along the Green Leaf Pedestrian Street. Since it was established in 2011 by SUFE students, the Tongyuan Fund has gained widespread influence among teachers and alumni. The fund aims to provide humanitarian assistance to those alumni who suffered from natural disasters and serious diseases. This year, the Tong Yuan Fund continues to promote its concept of spreading the spirit of helping others by selling postcards with campus scenery, handcrafts, and toys at the bazaar which benefit the fund. These graduation souvenirs and trinkets attracted a lot of attention from teachers and students. At the same time the Graduation Fair had graduates putting up stalls to sell their all of their old items of which they had no more use. Many of those graduates also donated the money they had earned to the Tong Yuan Fund to allow more students to understand what is and encourage participation.

Later in the evening the Lawn Musical Festival began at the Wudong Playground, and the rain did nothing to deter students from coming. The staff carefully prepared rainsheds and other facilities includingcolorful umbrellas, and light sticks in the playground which made for a beautiful landscape. The whole show was divided into three chapters: Flowers & Youth, Wine & Stories, and Poetry & Future. The audience was immersed   in the beautiful songs and atmosphere, and the performers earned thunderous applause. Graduates from the Freesky Club presented a vigorous dance performance. Teachers from the Faculty Dance Club also gave the audience a big surprise: a well-prepared ethnic dance scene which earned continuous cheers and pushed the festival to its climax.

The Tongyuan Bazzar, Graduate Fairs, and the Lawn Musical Festival not only kicked off this year's graduation season series activities, but also created a nostalgic atmosphere which had the graduates looking forward to the rest of the events.
