Shanghai, November 15- China’s maker spaces enjoy fast development and upgraded services, according to a report co-conducted by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of Shanghai
The report Development of Maker Spaces 2016, released yesterday during the Global Entrepreneurship Week, pointed out that the development of China’s maker spaces are entering a new phase.
Chinese ministry of science and technology announced a third batch of 839 maker spaces which have passed the record-keeping system in October, increasing 168.47% when compared with the previous two batches.
The development of maker spaces in main area has their own characteristics. According to expert analysis, maker spaces in Yangtze River Delta region enjoy average distributions with Shanghai and Hangzhou as two cores; maker spaces in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region mainly gather in Beijing and spread to Tianjin and Hebei; while in Pearl River Delta region, Guangzhou and Shenzhen’s maker spaces are driving the whole region’s maker spaces’ development.
At the same time, along with the continuous and fast development of maker spaces, their services for startups are also upgraded. China’s maker spaces are developing into a powerful support for entrepreneurs.
