Sufer Zhu Jiner Wins the Women’s Grand Prix

Recently, after the final round game of the 2024-2025 FIDE Women's Grand Prix Austria in the small town of Grossloaming, Austria, Zhu Jiner, a student of SUFE won the 2024-2025 FIDE Women's Grand Prix with a total of 352.5 points and got the ticket for the 2026 Women's World Championship Candidates Tournament. It is the fifth time for Chinese players to win the championship in a total of six FIDE Women's Grand Prix. “I’m very happy with my performance and how I played. I have also learnt a lot and I enjoyed it,” said Zhu, after the match.

In order to implement the development goal of “first-class university should have first-class sports”, SUFE gives full play to the demonstration and leading role of high-level sports teams, and promotes the double-line improvement of competitive sports and mass sports while continuing to cultivate high-level chess athletes, not only won awards in international and domestic important sports events, but also vigorously promoted SUFE's sports culture, creating a healthy, sunny and positive campus atmosphere.
