On October 6th, Platinum Chorus of SUFE School of Finance Alumni Chapter invited Mr. Martin Hurkens the winner of Holland’s Got Talent to perform at the Student Art Center of Guoding Road Campus. The most wonderful songs sang for nearly a thousand audiences and also as a tribute to the Centennial Anniversary of SUFE.
The concert was hosted by Ms. Zhu Liping, SUFE alumna (class of 1981).Vice President of SUFE School of Finance Alumni Chapter and Director of Centennial Anniversary Working Committee ,SUFE alumna (class of 1980) Ms. Sheng Minghui delivered a speech .Leaders of SUFE, retired teachers, alumni, teachers and students came to the venue early, nearly 1000 people All seats are occupied at the art center. Before the performance , SUFE leaders Jiang Chuanhai, Chen Xinyuan and Zhu Mingxiong exchanged cordial talks with Mr. Martin Hurkens and alumni representatives.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, the concert began. Platinum Chorus started the concert with a song Campus Morning,conducted by soprano Ms. He Aiqiu, the song brought the audiences back into their college years. Subsequently, Grandma's Penghu bay and The girl sits next to me reminded the audiences about their memories of youth.
In the concert, three famous sopranos came to send their best wishes to SUFE’s centennial celebration: Ms. Zhao Fei, Ms. He Junqiu, Ms. Zhong Xiaoping performed For Art, for Love，My Dear Father and Small Town Story and other folklore songs. Melodious and passionate, the songs touched audiences’ heart.
After Platinum Chorus ‘s Song of SUFE School of Finance Students and Me and My Motherland, the concert ushered into the main event - You raise me up presented by Platinum Chorus and Mr. Martin Herkens. Impressed by Mr Martin's powerful voice and singing skills, the audiences rolled into applause. Combined with high pitched voices of the chorus, the performance was an extraordinary auditory feast.
After the beautiful song , the former Nanjing Military Frontline Troupe musician, Shanghai Opera Orchestra trombone chief Mr. Shen Yongwei, on behalf of Mr. Martin’s team, introduced the reason that Mr. Martin came to SUFE: a gift to SUFE’s centennial celebration. he also sincerely hope that the audience can enjoy an unforgettable night.
Subsequently, Mr. Martin and a soprano Ms.Bo He presented a visual feast for the audiences: Nessun Dorma , Because We Believe , Time to Say Goodbye, Friends for Life and other classic songs. Accompanied by the soft sound of the piano, sweet melody echoed in the auditorium and in the hearts of the audiences. For his trip to China, Mr. Martin also prepared a special Chinese songs The Moon Represents My Heart and In a Place Far Away , and the audiences burst into applause.
At the end, the Toast Songsang by three sopranos and Mr. Herkens, pulled the concert to a climax. After the performance, Platinum Chorus, Mr.Hurkens and other singers took a group photo together to commemorate the wonderful performance .
Initiated by SUFE School of Finance Alumni Chapter , Platinum Chorus was formally established in July 2017.For the performances, the chorus invited two sopranos He Aiqiu and He Junqiu to instruct the rehearsal.The concert was a tribute to SUFE’s centennial celebration.
