Fan Liming

Born in 1958 in Gaoqing, Shandong. Member of the Communist Party of China, Doctor of Economics, professor and doctoral supervisor at SUFE, and expert with special allowance from the State Council. Current Standing Committee member and president of SUFE. Chairman of the Education Advisory Board for Finance under the Ministry of Education; member of the Committee for Discipline Construction and Specialty Setup under the Ministry of Education; member of the Expert Committee for the Assessment of Undergraduate Teaching in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education; and executive director of the Chinese Finance Society and Chinese Tax Institute. Main research interests include fiscal theories and policies, theories and systems of taxation, and higher education management.

Experience:

Commenced studies at the Department of Economics, Shandong University, in March 1978, and pursued studies for a master's degree in Fiscal Policy and Finance at Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics in February 1982. She received a teaching post at Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics in December 1984, and was appointed as associate professor and then as professor at the Department of Economics, Shandong University, since September 1986. She became deputy director of the Department of Economics in April 1991 and deputy dean of the School of Economics, Shandong University, in April 1994. She received a doctorate in Economics in July 1999; appointed as dean of the School of Economics in March 2000, during which from November 2000 to May 2003, she engaged in postdoctoral research at Xiamen University. She became a senior visiting scholar at Duke University, US, from November 2001 to May 2002; was appointed as a Standing Committee member and vice president of Shandong University in September 2003; and became Standing Committee member and president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in June 2012.
