SUFE signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese University of Hong Kong


In order to enhance the cooperation between SUFE and universities in Hong Kong, Cong Shuhai, Chairperson of the University Council and  Chairperson of University Affairs, led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Hong Kong Baptist University from June 8 to June 12.

On June 9, the delegation visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, held meetings with the delegation. The two sides exchanged their educational philosophies and reviewed their previous exchanges and cooperation. In addition they discussed their further cooperation in economics, accounting, finance, management and other disciplines, as well as the possibility of teacher and student exchanges between the two universities.

After their discussion, the two sides reached a consensus on expanding cooperation and promoting the development of the two universities. Subsequently, the SUFE Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and the School of Accountancy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong signed a Memorandum of Understanding, agreeing to promote student exchange and short-term visits, and to build a platform for scientific research.

Founded in 1963, the Chinese University of Hong Kong is one of the leading universities in Hong Kong and in Asia.

On June 10th, the delegation visited Hong Kong Baptist University. Prof. Rick Wong, vice president of HKBU, met the delegation. Both sides reviewed their previous exchanges and cooperation and discussed the possibility of expanding teacher and students exchanges in economics, management science and other disciplines. After the meeting, the delegation visited Dr. and Mrs. Hung Hin-Shiu of the Museum of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University .

During the visit, the delegation also visited our school’s alumni in Hong Kong and attended the Hong Kong Alumni Forum.

On behalf of SUFE, Cong Shuhai introduced the recent developments in the university and listened to the suggestions and opinions of the alumni on the development of the school. He also extended his thanks for their care and support for the development of the school.

The members of the delegation included: Zhu Mingxiong, the Assistant Principal, Liu Qingsheng, Director of the President’s Office, Li Hong, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, and Yu Shihong, Director of the Archives of SUFE.
