On the morning of September 12th, the 2015 commencement ceremony of SUFE was held at Wudong sports field. Vice President Liu Lanjuan hosted the ceremony. Leaders of SUFE: Cong Shuhai, Fan Liming, Liu Yongzhang, Liu Lanjuan, Fang Hua, Huang Ying, Chen Xinyuan, Liao Linzhen and 4000 SUFE freshmen extended the ceremony.
After the solemn national anthem and flag-raising ceremony, Fan Liming, President of SUFE, delivered a speech concerning cultivating ethical and constructive talents with economic foresight. Firstly, she extended a warm welcome to the students on behalf of the university. Then, she introduced SUFE from three different perspectives: the history of the university, the distinct characteristics and goals of SUFE and the ideology and educational style of SUFE. Moreover, she emphasized the spirit of pursuing excellence so that the new students will contribute to the development of the university. She hoped that the education of SUFE would imbue in young people a sense of responsibility and innovation.
Afterwards, He Jiacheng, a second-year postgraduate, who was also the representative of postgraduates extended a warm welcome to the new students and suggested that students should pay more attention to self-cultivation.
Wu Yumeng, a freshman from the School of Economics, delivered a speech as the representative of undergraduates. She expressed the excitement of beginning a new journey in SUFE and expectations of college life. She asked the students to undertake their responsibilities and to strive for their dreams.
Feng Shuaizhang from the School of Economics represented the teachers to give a speech to the new students. He said that university life meant not only new chances and new possibilities but also new challenges and responsibilities. He encouraged the students to try new things and devote themselves to be someone who had empathy, responsibility and compassion, who was willing to help others and to repay society.
