On the morning of September 8th, the opening ceremony for new students was held at the gymnasium of the Guoding Road campus. SUFE leaders Cong Shuhai, Chen Hong, Liu Lanjuan, Fang Hua, Jiang Chuanhai, Chen Xinyuan, Yao Lingzhen, Zhu Mingxiong, principal assistant Zheng Shaohua,leaders of each school (department and Institute), and directors of functional departments attended the ceremony. All new Sufers from different countries and regions attended the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Cong Shuhai,the chairperson of the university council, on behalf of the school,extended warm welcome and congratulations to the new students. Then, he talked about SUFE's past, present and future from history, characteristics and responsibility,and gave an in-depth interpretation of the concept and features SUFE has formed in 100 years. Cong expressed his hope that the students could cultivate virtues, develop a good habits of learning and thinking, and acquire a wide range of knowledge and a taste of elegance. Cong said that as a new sufer who was fortunate to witness SUFE’s centennial anniversary, students should carry on pursuing excellence,and jointly write a new chapter of SUFE history .
Professor Yang Jinqiang from the School of Finance, Lan Ziwen, a student representative from the School of Accounting and Yin Jingfeng, a undergraduate representative from the School of Economics and Bagas Deka Kurtianto a postgraduate representative from School of Public Economics and Management also delivered speeches and congratulated the students.
